About Me

So you actually would like to know about me?  I'm flattered.

I was born and raised on the west side of Cincinnati in 1989 and have sadly not ventured far out of the 275 loop besides a couple dated family vacations.  My goals are to leave this little patch of land and see the world, or more practically at least America.

I'm currently studying photography at Antonelli College and am expected to graduate summer 2012, just in time to do some photojournalism on people stocking up on toilet paper and mayonnaise for 2012.  I have always had a deep interest in urban decay ever since early childhood, and I really love these kind of scenes for my art.  I am also interested in learning the history of these places and how they have effected the cities in which they are built.

In addition to photographing I am also an avid musician and play lead guitar and bass in the band Junior Crime Fighters.  I have been playing guitar since 2000, bass since 2004, and have previously played violin from 1999-2005.  I play mostly hard rock, metal, and psychedelic.  I prefer Gibson guitars, Fender basses, and Marshall amps, and I swear by Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinky strings, and never leave home without my Big Muff Pi, Bad Monkey, or Dunlop Jimi Hendrix Wah.  I've also recently gotten into using a talkbox.  They're pretty fun once you get the hang of it.

Camera Gear

For all digital stuff I use a Nikon D40x with the kit 18-55 F 3.5-5.6 lens.  Hopefully may 2011 I can get a Pentax K5.

For film I use a dated Sigma Sa-1 with powerwinder.  My usual urbex lens is a Sigma 35-200 f 4-5.6  I usually use typical Kodak Gold 200 film for color, and usually use Kodak Tri-X or Ilford Pan F 50 for black and white.

I use a late 80s Starblitz 3600dtz flash sometimes, but I usually use a 30 second exposure and just paint the scene with a flashlight.  More creative control.
